LivinHell: The Demon Writings of William Pauley III
Book Review

By Robert Walter

Livinhell is the latest collection of Dark short stories and poetry from the prolific author William Pauley III. He also did the original cover art as well as the chapter art. Information on how to get a copy is at his website www.breaksaidsilence.blogspot.com .

The book is arranged in four chapters. The first chapter, Mr. Malin and the Night, is a short story written in prose. The tagline for the chapter “What would you do if the Devil gave you one more night to live?” gives a glimpse of the ride you take in the story to follow. The story takes you along with Mr. Malin as he discovers that we all suffer consequences for our actions in life. I really enjoyed this story.

The second chapter, The Living Daylights, is a collection of 39 dark poems. The primary theme of these poems is death. A very interesting read.

The third chapter, If You Don’t Sleep, You Don’t Dream, is a short story. The story switches between prose and narrative as it wends its way along a disturbing trail. It gave me some nightmares after reading it.

The fourth and final chapter, Extras, is two short stories and three poems.

Overall the collection was dark and foreboding. Taking the reader into the depths of the characters despair and only relenting on the rare occasion. Don’t take this collection lightly as it will work its way into your mind and won’t come out easily.
